External Characteristics

GENERAL APPEARANCE:

The Austrian Pinscher is a medium sized, sturdy dog with a cheerful and bright facial expression.

SIZE:

Males: 44 – 50 cm

Females: 42 – 48 cm

 

WEIGHT:

15 – 22 kg

 

COAT:

Topcoat with undercoat. The coat is short to medium long. Within the Austrian Pinscher breed there are many different color varieties: wheat yellow, brown yellow, fawn, black with red/brown markings. Often with white markings (blaze, throat, chest, limbs and/or tail tip).

Uiterlijke kenmerken

HEAD:

Pear-shaped, harmoniously fit with body. Wide and vaulted forehead with obvious wrinkle. Clearly expressed cheekbones and strong cheek muscles. Shorte, strong muzzle. Tight, smooth adjoininig lips, dark pigmented.

 

EYES:

A large eyeball in round lid aperture, the eyelids contiguous with a dark pigment.

 

EARS:

Button ears (most common), small and high set.

 

TEETH:

Powerful and complete scissor bite.

 

TAIL:

Set high, carried curled, powerful, medium long, densely hairy.
